George Kohut

George Kohut, 92, formerly of Forward Township, Elizabeth, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in Nokomis, Fla. He was born Dec. 22, 1920, the son of Samuel and Agnes Kohut, of Webster . He was a World War II veteran receiving two Bronze Stars. He was a steelworker for 42 years and was an active member of the Forward Fire Hall. George loved his garden, flowers and cooking and was known for his "family favorite halupkies." He is survived by his wife, Terri, of Nokomis, Fla.; sister, Rose Ulisky, of Monongahela; daughter, Lynn Hainer, of Washington, Pa.; special grandson, Durk Williams, of Charleroi; stepsons, Brian Profrock, of Bentleyville, and Mark Profrock, of St. Augustine, Fla.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who loved him dearly, and he them. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Campbell Kohut; son, Terry Kohut, of Elizabeth; and daughters, Addie Smith, of Carnegie, Twyla Saccani, of Elizabeth, and Naryn Williams, of Bentleyville. Private service was held in Florida.
