James Binder Obituary

Retired Air Force Maj. James Thomas Binder, 82, of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of New York City, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, in Forbes Hospice. James was proud to serve his country as a miltary pilot in World War II, the Korean War and the Cuban Missle Crisis. After his military service, he was the general manager of a large industrial wholesale distributor for many years and later helped create a manufacturer and distributor of military spare parts. He will be missed sadly by all who knew and loved him. Beloved husband of Patricia (Cunningham) Binder for 59 wonderful years. Loving father of James (Susan Murphy), Robert (Ina Fleishman), Jeffrey (Donna Winters) and David (Charlene Mullen) Binder, Noreen (William) Brown, Diana (Benjamin) Peticca, Cheri (David) Wilke and Patricia (Jon) Morgan. Grandfather of 21. Great-grandfather of two. Son of the late James Jacob and Anna Marie McCowley Binder. Brother of the late Geraldine, formerly of San Diego. Family and friends welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Winifred Catholic Church, Mt. Lebanon. Burial with full military honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
