John Skaritka Jr., 86, of Monroeville, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2016. He was born Nov. 9, 1930, in the Bronx, New York, N.Y. He was a son of the late John Sr. and Susan Mozolak Skaritka. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Anne Baranek. John served in the Army as an experimental engineer on secret government projects for the military during the Korean War. John received his Master's in Chemical Engineering from the New York University/Pratt Institute. He was a chemical engineer with Westinghouse as a nuclear licensee. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Murrysville. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary "Kitty" McNemar Skaritka; a son, Robert M. (Barbara) Skaritka, of Trafford; two daughters, Kim (Michael) DiCriscio, of Irwin, and Denise Skaritka, of Charleroi; and four grandchildren, Robby Jr., Lucas, Johnathan and Maximus. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Paul Baranek, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at HART FUNERAL HOME INC., Murrysville. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Murrysville, with Pastor David L. Weeks officiating. Everyone please meet at the church. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville.
