Marion Hardt Obituary

Marion C. (Chalmers) Hardt, 75, of Hampton, passed on Sunday, June 6, 2004, at her residence. She was born Tuesday, Oct. 30, 1928, in Hampton, to the late Thomas Q. and Gertrude S. Chalmers. Marion was manager of Hampton High School's cafeteria for 35 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Parkwood United Presbyterian Church, Hampton. Marion joined Hampton EMS in 1984. She received EMT certification in 1985, continued and reviewed certification. She went to Richland EMS in 1987 and was elected to the board of directors. She served as vice president in 1988 through 1993 and became president in 1995. She continued that service as chairperson of the Richland EMS board until her death. She organized their subscription records. She is survived by her husband, Perry E. Hardt; daughter, Kathleen (Barry) Moyer of Hampton; son, Ronald (Lorraine) Hardt of Hampton; sister, Anna R. Chalmers of Hampton; six grandchildren; and her dog, Ming. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Chalmers. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the HERBERT R. KING JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., www.kingfuneralhome.com, Route 8 at 2841 Woodland Circle, Hampton. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Parkwood United Presbyterian Church, Hampton, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Englund-Krieger officiating. Interment will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless.
