Mary E. Schmitt

Mary E. Schmitt, age 65, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at UPMC St. Margaret. She was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Sharpsburg, a daughter of the late William and Mary Wissel Whealdon. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Etna and was active in All Saints Church Athletic Assoc. and Christian Mothers. She is survived by a son, Joseph P. Schmitt and five grandchildren, Gregory, Kimberly, Jonathan, Kelle and Joshua. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Schmitt and by a son, William P. Schmitt. Friends received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at WORRELL FUNERAL HOME, corner of Main and Ninth streets, Sharpsburg, where a Parish Wake Service will be held on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, Etna, by the Rev. John Vojtek. Entombment will follow in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery, Ross Twp. Memorial contributions are requested for All Saints Church, 19 Wilson St., Etna, PA 15223.
