During our momentary but meaningful time with her, we as her caregivers only had about 150 days. We learned what was really important to her; her family, and their travels together, her career, the joy and beauty of nature and flowers, poetry, having someone read aloud to her, her reading group she called “The Greeks,” sitting under the magnolia tree and having lamb chops at dinner with her silver are just a few things that come to mind.

All I can say is that I loved my time with Mrs. Schoyer. I do consider it an honor and privilege to have been with her. I knew all was well when she would give me her wink of approval. Thank you so much for letting us in! We will miss her but will never forget her.

Once spent a lovely afternoon watching a Steeler's game with Mrs. Schoyer. Not lacking in spirit, she wore hat and carried worry towel! Farewell to a grand lady!

I was just reflecting on her the other day and how she enjoyed the portion of scripture about the "turtledove" in the Song of Solomon. I enjoyed knowing her. And will treasure the inspiration I got to put pencil to paper and sketch again, even for that brief instance.

Ira and family, take comfort in the gem that she was.
