Patricia A. Rotharmel

1936 - 2016

Patricia A. (Cottom) Rotharmel, 80, of McKeesport, died March 10, 2016, at UPMC McKeesport. She was born March 3, 1936, in McKeesport, daughter of the late Clark A. Cottom and Sylvia (Moon) (Cottom) Burke. Patricia was a long time member of the Highland Grove United Methodist Church in McKeesport. She was a member of the church's UMW (United Methodist Women's group), a Sunday school teacher for a time, also a member of the church's choir. She very much enjoyed the Tuesday evening prayer meetings, also cooking and baking for any and all church functions. Caring and giving of herself and her time was her daily endeavor and enjoyment. Patricia was very devoted to her family, extended family Lioba and Marius in Germany, as well as her spiritual family within her church. She thrived on making all those around her happy and made sure all had what they needed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James L. Rotharmel; grandson, Jacob (Jibbs) Lipp; and two brothers, Earl and Clark (Corky) Cottom. She is survived by her six children, James (Jean) Rotharmel, of White Oak, Brian (Marilyn) Rotharmel, of McKeesport, Robert (Lisa) Rotharmel, of Greenock, Kathleen (Steve), of White Oak, Robin (Steven) Lipp, of Irwin, and Kimberly (Jake) Rothrauff, of New Stanton; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mina (Vince) Greene, of Danville; sisters-in-law, Jane Rotharmel, of Pittsburgh, Mary Jesso, of Masontown; and many nieces and nephews. She was the best mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend anyone could ask for and will be sorely missed.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016 at WILLIG FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Funeral service will be at noon Monday, March 14, 2016, at the Highland Grove United Methodist Church of McKeesport, with additional viewing at church from 11 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Karen Burns will officiate with Pastor D.J. Quirin to co-officiate. Burial will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
