Paul Kuszaj Obituary

Paul J. Kuszaj, 45, of West Mifflin, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born July 21, 1966, in Homestead, a son of the late Adolph S. and Irene (Chokota) Kuszaj. Paul was a 10 year survivor of an AVM rupture that left him disabled from his profession as a librarian in the Steel Valley School District. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and Christ the Light of the World Parish, both in Duquesne, and the Sigma Pi Fraternity at Slippery Rock University. Paul was an awesome husband of 12 years to Janet (Kosko) Kuszaj. Unable to work because of his disability, he took on many jobs, his most treasured was being a full-time father to Shane, age 10, and Corey, age 5. Paul was the brother of Debi Goodfellow, of Braddock Hills, Kathy Kuszaj, of West Mifflin; brother-in-law of Jean (Tom) Thomas, of West Mifflin, Cindy (Mark) Bonacci, of West Mifflin, and the late Larry and Sue Kosko; son-in-law of Ann (late Gene) Kosko, of West Mifflin; also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, Supervisor, and William Brian Schleifer, Funeral Director. A blessing service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph Church with the Rev. Dennis Colamarino as celebrant. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an education fund for his children, Shane and Corey Kuszaj, c/o Maloy-Schleifer Funeral Home, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, PA 15110.
