Paul Porter Obituary

Paul F. Porter Sr., age 66, died unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 8, 2002. Mr. Porter was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired as a sergeant from the Harbor Patrol of the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police and then went on to serve 10 years as deputy chief of the Jackson Township Police Department. He was a member of the Zelienople American Legion Post 474, Perry Ionic Lodge 796 of Wexford, Syria Shrine Temple in Pittsburgh, the Knights Templar Lodge in Pittsburgh and the Scottish Rite. Mr. Porter was also a member of the Evans City Sportsman Club and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann (Gallowich) Porter, whom he married on June 28, 1958, and his sister, Mrs. Henry (Jean) Claws of Warrendale. He was preceded in death by his sons, Michael J. Porter and Paul F. Porter Jr. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment in Grace Church Cemetery, Harmony.
