Thomas Gerdich Obituary

Thomas W. Gerdich Brandon, Fla., formerly of West Mifflin and McKeesport Thomas W. Gerdich, 64, of Brandon, Fla., formerly of West Mifflin and McKeesport, passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at home in Brandon, Fla., with his family by his side. He was born June 6, 1948, in McKeesport, the son of Thomas G. Gerdich and the late Claire (Hickey) Gerdich. Tom was a graduate of Serra High. He was also a member of Iron Worker Local No. 3 and the owner of Bigfoot Construction, before moving to Florida. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by a brother, Michael; and a sister, Kathy. In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lisa (Semko) Gerdich; two daughters, Tasane Lynch and Dawn Wolff (James Matthew); and two granddaughters, Jayden and Kyrstin. He is also survived by brothers, Donald (Patti), Greg (Lynn) and Mark (Carol) Gerdich; sisters, Rosemarie and Julia Gerdich; many nieces and nephews; and loving family and friends. Family and friends will gather for a memorial celebration of Tom's life from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug, 18, 2012, in the WILLIAM H. CRAIG FUNERAL HOME INC., 3000 Versailles Ave., McKeesport, PA 15132. A blessing service followed by a time of remembrance will be held in the funeral home. Private interment will be at later date in Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions in Tom's name to the American Cancer Society.
