Luola Morrow Obituary

Luola White Morrow, of Fox Chapel, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Born Oct. 2, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, Lola was the daughter of Jack and Elizabeth White. A graduate of Orange High School and Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio (1962), she was with The Higbee Company in Cleveland until 1966. Lola was devoted to her husband, Robert, and her three daughters. She also generously donated her time and talents over the years to numerous organizations including the Fox Chapel Area Schools, Parents Who Care, Fox Chapel Girls Sports Boosters, Delta Gamma sorority, Guyasuta Garden Club, Beechwood Farms and various programs and activities at the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, including numerous children's programs and serving as a member of session. Lola also enjoyed making unforgettable hot-fudge sundaes, cookies and sourdough bread, being part of the 8 Great Tomatoes crew team, traveling, flower arranging and working in her garden. Lola will be sorely missed but always remembered as a kind, helpful and supportive wife, mother and friend. She loved children and doted on her grandchildren, as well as her nieces and nephews. She had a knack for making people feel welcome and her home was always open to family and friends. In addition to her husband, Lola is survived by her daughters, Jody (Jeff) Moore, of Georgetown, Mass., Susan (Sam) Bell, of Seattle, Wash., and Barbara (Tom) Daenzer, of Minneapolis, Minn.; eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Sarah and Emily Moore, Solomon, Satchel and Sage Bell and Jack and Callan Daenzer; siblings, Elizabeth Campbell, of Rocky River, Ohio, Robert (Tracy) White, of Winter Park, Fla., and Nancy (Ben) Whitmer, of Naperville, Ill. The family is grateful for the caretakers at Care at Home, Woodside Place, Oakmont, and Family Hospice, Lawrenceville.
A memorial service was held Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are by WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, Aspinwall.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, 384 Fox Chapel Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.

Sad news of a significant woman I was honored to know. She did it all and did it well. As one of the Eight Great Tomatoes, we shared some very special times - as well as school activities and CCIC.
She will be remembered.

Dear Mr. Morrow and Family,

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Looking at the beautiful picture of Mrs. Morrow reminds me of how Mrs. Morrow would light up and give us that beautiful smile when Mr. Morrow would come through the door at Woodside Place. Our family at Woodside Place were very fortunate to meet such a wonderful couple.
