Larry Ansell Obituary

Body: Larry E. Ansell Hunker Larry E. "Sonny" Ansell, 69, of Hunker, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at his home. He was born Feb. 7, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Albert R. and Mildred T. Shupe Ansell. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War era. He was employed at Ansell's Auto Repair of Hunker. Sonny was a member of the Hempfield Sportsmens Club and the NRA. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Dora Ansell; an infant brother, Albert Ansell Jr.; a sister-in-law, Cora Lee Ansell; and a brother-in-law, Lester Oplinger. He is survived by a son, Christopher E. Ansell, of Hunker; a brother, Robert R. Ansell, of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Theresa M. Ansell, of Chambersburg, Elsie M. (Clarence "Ed") Claspy, of North Versailles, and Jane E. Oplinger, of Verona; his ex-wife, Paula (Daniel) Welc and her sons, Jonathan and Noah Welc; also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Ryder and Neko. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME, 101 S. Fourth St., Youngwood. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Peter E. Nordby officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
