My sincerest condolences to Maia and children. I just found out about Alan's passing. Although I haven't seen Alan since medical school he was the kind of friend one never forgets. His positive outlook and energetic disposition kept us going during some of our hardest times. He will be missed.

Maia, Jared, and Aaron,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Alan's passing and wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Alan was one of those unique souls that understood how precious life is and never took a day of his life for granted. His passion for living was contagious and made our lives's better just for knowing him.
Godspeed my Friend,

My thoughts and prayers are with all who had the extreme pleasure of knowing this wonderful man, either as his loving family, a co worker, friend or one of his patients. He had such a caring heart and perfect bedside manner. It will be challenging to find someone that will make us feel at ease like he did. God bless his family and give them peace in the knowledge that he was loved and respected by everyone. Rest In Peace Dr.

I met Dr. Olivenstein 14 years ago when he was doing my catheterization. His bedside manner was so wonderful, he was a friend and doctor. We talked about our love of sushi and Squirrel Hill where I grew up. I will always remember his caring and thorough style and he will always be in my prayers. So sorry for your loss. May these words provide you comfort in this difficult time. The candle burns here for all that have gone before.

Dr. Olivenstein saved my father Albert's life in 2005 after a heart attack at Westmoreland Hospital with heart stents. When he met with our family afterward he said "Tell my fellow Jewish friend from New York City to lay off the schmaltz!" He made us laugh during a frightening time. Dad is 86 and still going strong! He will miss the doc and their NYC stories at visits. Our deepest sympathies.

When I first met Dr Olivenstein at Frick Hospital he was the heart doctor for my husband who was in for MI. He came out and announced for the Prinkey family. I was the only one and thought "Dukey Hauser!" He looked so young! Much younger than his years. Our prayers to the family.
