Albert G. Auer, 86, of Mt. Pleasant (Bullskin Township), died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in Life's Promise, Ligonier. He was born Jan. 2, 1935, in Connellsville, a son of the late Albert Auer and the late Beulah Savage Auer Shultz. Albert was a veteran of the Army. He was employed as a mechanic, having worked for Penn Line Services for several years and he retired from Pepsi Bottling in Kecksburg. He was a member of teamsters Local No. 491. He was a member of the Paradise United Methodist Church and he attended the Bridgeport United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Joyce A. Hoover Auer; two children, Tim Auer and his wife, Shelly, of Mt. Pleasant, and Cindy Seighman and her husband, John, of Ruffsdale; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones and her husband, Matt, Benjamin Auer and Madelyn Auer; two great-grandchildren, Connor and Ethan Jones; and two sisters, Irene Brooks and her husband, Jim, of Connellsville, and Carrie Micher, of Adelaide. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two daughters, Christine Auer and Lisa Marie Auer, and a sister, Shirley Jordan. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Roger Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Life's Promise and the staff of Heritage Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Albert during his illness.
