Alice H. Ruff

1926 - 2022

Alice H. Ruff, 96, of Greensburg, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2022. She was born April 13, 1926, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Harry H. and Catherine Sarver Henninger. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greensburg. Prior to retirement, Alice worked at NuWay Laundry for over 20 years. Her favorite thing to do was to send cards for every occasion and "Thinking of You" cards to everyone she knew. It was not unusual to receive two or three "Thinking of You" cards in one day. She loved her family more than anything. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William H. Ruff; and the following siblings: Mary Crosby, Harry Henninger, Lester Henninger, C. Edgar Henninger, Mildred Suttle, Dorothy Henninger, Warren Henninger, Kenneth Henninger, Joseph Henninger and Evelyn Watts. Alice was extremely proud of her four children: Sharon (Barry) Keckler, Pamela Ruff, Kimberly (Joseph) Nicassio, and Kevin (Deborah) Ruff; ten grandchildren, Candace Jennings, Deanna (Todd) Thompson, Lydian (Joseph) Kessler, Shaun (Sarah) Teacher, Amber (Mike) Hensley, Heather (Todd) Ewing, Mallory (Jeffrey) Hopple, Joshua Ruff, Lauren Nicassio and Nicholas Nicassio; sixteen great-grandchildren, Roland (Chelsea) Jennings, Ashleigh Kessler, Breanna Kessler, Tavin Kessler, Logan Kessler, Emily Teacher, Ayden Thompson, Lacey Hartzel, Nathan Teacher, Halle Thompson, Jacob Teacher, Aubrey Hensley, Gavin Ewing, Camden Hensley, Alyza Hopple and Jack Hopple; two great-grandchildren, Samuel and Finley Jennings; and a sister, Margaret Jogun. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Irwin Union Cemetery.
