Anita Silvis Obituary

Anita M. Silvis, 62, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025. She was born May 11, 1963, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Gib and June Kellerman Siard. Anita had a green thumb for houseplants. She was an excellent cook and baker, especially of apple pies. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Kathy Steffey; a brother-in-law, Jim Steffey; and her in-laws, Lu and Kathleen Silvis. Anita is survived by her husband of 44 years, Mark A. Silvis Sr.; two sons, Mark Jr. (Emma) and Nicholas (Kylee); two grandchildren, Evie June and Callum Hugh; a brother, Gib (Cheryl) Siard; three sisters, Ginny (Bill) Gaughan, Andrea Vaughan, and Tanya (Jayson) Martin; and several nieces and nephews. Anita's family wishes to thank Jeanne Bickel for her care and companionship. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, at BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery.
