Betty M. Beckett, 96, of Altoona, formerly of New Stanton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, at her home. She was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Confluence, a daughter of William H. and Estella (Show) Reckner. Her parents; husband, Glen; son, Larry; brothers, Harry and John Reckner; and sisters, Alta Tannehill, Helen Bizantz, and Jeanne McNamara, preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Lucinda Beckett, of Altoona; a son, Craig Beckett (Sherri), of Ruffsdale; grandchildren, Carrie Vento, Sandra Barnhart, Jaclyn Luchon, and Jessica, Jason, Joshua, Jeremy, and Chad Beckett; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Conn, of Confluence; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, at HUMBERT FUNERAL HOME in Confluence, where a service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, with Reverend David Vento officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. There will be viewing one hour prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to UPMC Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.
