Brenda M. McCrady

Brenda M. (McCurdy) McCrady, 86, of Longwood at Oakmont, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Edward McCrady III for 60 years. Loving mother of Amy Lou Kemp (Christopher) and the late Edward D. McCrady (Pattie); proud grandmother of Charles Kemp, David (Maria Trees) Kemp, Margaret (Chris Crumb) Kemp, Edward (Anna White) McCrady, Maxwell McCrady, Evelyn McCrady, and Ruth McCrady; adoring great-grandmother to Lily Jo. She is also survived by her sister, Dana Panza. Preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Margaret (Couch) McCurdy. Brenda was a graduate of Springdale High School, where she was a majorette. She graduated from Victoria Mannequin School and then from the University of Pittsburgh with a teaching degree. She was a Delta Delta Delta and a secretary for the student government. Brenda was an elder and a Sunday school teacher at Edgewood United Presbyterian Church. She was a business education teacher at Penn Hills/Plum/Woodland Hills. Together with her husband, Ed, she ran McCrady Building Supplies. She loved her active life at Longwood and enjoyed sharing her many stories of Oakmont, Penn Hills, Springdale, and Pittsburgh. She loved to play bridge and was an avid college basketball and Steelers fan. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL), 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Burial to follow at Cross Roads Cemetery.
