Carolyn N. Wilcher

Carolyn N. Wilcher, 72, of Penn Township, died Thursday, November 27, 2025. She was born September 27, 1953 in Braddock, a daughter of the late John and Jean (Howat) Anderson and was also preceded in death by a brother John Cloyd Anderson. Carolyn worked in bookkeeping for Union National Bank for many years and finished her working career as an administrative assistant for Penn-Trafford School District. Carolyn was a devoted catholic and a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin. She had served as a Eucharistic Minister and catechism teacher at Madonna del Castello, Swissvale, and had taught CCD to ninth graders at Mother of Sorrows, Murrysville. She loved to cook for her family especially at the holidays. She is survived by her husband Joseph W. Wilcher Jr.; her children Joseph W. Wilcher III (Amy) of Mount Airy, MD and Mary E. Flaherty (Michael) of Whitehall; her granddaughter Maya Louisa Wilcher; a sister Marianne Yurchak (Joseph); sister in law Joyce L. Anderson; also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 1, at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin. Parting prayers will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church. Private interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
