Celeste Rause

Celeste (Zubalik) Rause, 86, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, in the Westmoreland Manor. She was born Aug. 20, 1936, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Joseph F. Zubalik, Sr. and Frances Kopper Zubalik. Celeste was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church and a former member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral where she worked on the bulletin. She had also worked for a time at Redstone Highlands in Greensburg as a receptionist and volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Rause; two brothers, Connie and Joseph Zubalik Jr.; and a sister, Marge Ranilovich. She is survived by seven children, Thomas Rause (Dawn), of Zebulon, N.C., Joseph P. Rause Jr., of Latrobe, James Rause (Dana), of Greensburg, John Rause (Lucia), of Greensburg, Susy Reynolds (Frank Sledge), of Loveland, Colo., Daniel Rause (Tracy), of Southwest Greensburg and David Rause, of Canaan Valley, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren, Taylor, Shawn (Yolondi), Jesse (Maddy), Victoria, Nicole, Colton, Kelsey Jo (Gil), Kristina (Anthony), Shane, Samantha, Roxanne, Raquel and Rebecca; four great-grandchildren, Mason, Mia, Maura and Devi; a sister, Sara Burriss, of Greensburg; a sister-in-law, Genevieve Zubalik, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Celeste from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Prayers of transfer will be said in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the Our Lady of Grace Church. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Westmoreland Manor for their loving and compassionate care of Celeste over the past several years. They are truly grateful.
