Charles Richard "Shotgun" Erb, 70, of New Alexandria, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at his home. He was born Aug. 16, 1951, in Indiana, Pa., the son of Richard B. and Eugenia (Howard) Erb. Shotgun graduated from Blairsville High School, Class of 1969, and worked as a truck driver in construction. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his stepdaughter, Janel L. Brown, of New Alexandria; stepson, John Evanichko, of Saltsburg; five stepgrandchildren, Ivy Evanichko, Zachary Brown Jr., Michael Brown, Gavin Evanichko and Gage Evanichko; four sisters, Donna Erb, of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Linda Elliott, of Blairsville, Peggy Ehman (Ted), of Gray Station, and Penny Horrell (Steve), of Blairsville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Sandra Lee Erb, in 2021. As per the wishes of Shotgun, there will be no services. SHOEMAKER FUNERAL HOME INC., 49 N.
