Christine J. (Chalkey) Hill, 63, of Salem Township, Greensburg, passed into the arms of her Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, at home, surrounded by her beloved family and friends. She was born Nov. 12, 1952, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late James and Marion (Mickolay) Chalkey. Christine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Taking care of and spending time with her family and friends was most important to her. She had a special love for children and teaching. Christine was employed for many years as a teacher in the Greensburg-Salem School District. She was a very active member of LifeSpring Christian Church, Greensburg. Christine will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted family. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Randy Hill; daughters, Rebecca Hill, of Greensburg, and Tiffany Bruno (Bill), of Delmont; sisters, Patricia Main (Terry), of Pittsburgh, and Dolores Heineman, of Monroeville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Christine was the very proud grandmother of Emily and Jennavecia, both of whom she cherished.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 724-468-1177. Funeral services for Christine will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Dale Adams of LifeSpring Christian Church, Greensburg, officiating. Graveside committal services and interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
