Cora May Plummer, 91, of Ligonier, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, in Excela Health Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1920, in Vandergrift, a daughter of the late James and Grace Nicholson Rowley. Cora was a member of the American Legion No. 267 Ladies Axillary. She was a young-hearted woman who brought joy and a smile to all who knew her. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert I. Plummer, in 1977; a grandson, Stanley Reynolds; and a brother, John George Rowley. She is survived by three daughters, Jean (James) Reynolds, of New Derry, Marchalene (Paul) Queer, of Ligonier, and Thora May Pullen, of Madison, Va.; a son, John L. Jack (Donna) Plummer, of Ligonier; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and her extended family, the Cross' from Stanton, Va. Cora's friends and family will gather from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier, where her life will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Dr. J. Paul McCracken officiating. Interment will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery.
