Darren DiRado, 61, of Salem Township, Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, in UPMC East, with his loving family and friends by his side. He was born Feb. 12, 1961, in Greensburg, a son of the late Anthony and Anna (Simuni) DiRado. Darren was a self-employed mechanic and enjoyed working on cars. He loved being outdoors, going to the beach, and spending time with his family, which meant the most to him. He could have hour-long conversations with you and think nothing of it because he truly loved the company of a family member or friend. Darren had the biggest heart and would do absolutely anything for anyone. He was constantly looking out for the people around him and always made sure that they were taken care of. Darren met his soulmate, Jill, when they were teenagers, and they had been inseparable ever since. They had been married 41 years and built a beautiful life together. Darren was also the best father and best friend to their daughters, Stephanie and Ashley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Dean; father-in-law, Joseph Busato Jr.; and his best furry buddy, Lucy. Darren is survived by his loving wife, Jill; daughters, Stephanie Bailey (husband Ben) and Ashley DiRado (fiance Dalton Miller); sister, Denise Schaller (companion Larry Hornyak); best friend since elementary school, Bob Kowalewski (wife Cindy); brother, Duke (wife Lin); mother-in-law, Jenny Busato; and nieces and nephews; as well as great-nieces and -nephews. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2022, and 10 a.m. to noon Monday, in the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, PA 15626, 724-468-1177. A Funeral of Christian Burial for Darren will follow at noon in the funeral home, with Father Tyler J. Bandura, of St. James Church, New Alexandria.
