David E. Overdorff Sr.

1955 - 2022

David E. Overdorff Sr., 67, of Ruffsdale, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg. He was born July 25, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, son of Theresa (Christie) Overdorff and the late Jack Overdorff Sr. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1973. He was owner and operator since 1988 of Dave's Butcher Supply in Yukon. David was a lifetime member of the Youngwood Hunt Club, the Slovenian Hall in Yukon, PA, PAMP (Pennsylvania Association of Meat Processors), AAMP (The American Association of Meat Processors), NRA (National Rifle Association) and SCI (Safari Club International). David was a very hard worker who loved his job. He enjoyed his annual trip to Africa to go safari hunting for over 35 types of animals. He enjoyed listening to oldies music and Bob Seger. He was preceded in death by his father and survived by his mother, loving wife of 46 years, Gwendolyn (Brady) Overdorff, of Ruffsdale, son, David Overdorff II, brothers, Dan Overdorff and Jack Overdorff Jr., three nieces, one nephew, one grand-niece and three grand-nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at the BEATTY-RICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 136, Madison, Ronald A. Rich Jr., supervisor/FD. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. at the Seven Dolors Catholic Cemetery in Yukon, with Father Vincent Yee-Concepcione officiating. Interment will follow.
