David A. Spears

1949 - 2025

David Allan Spears, 76, of Youngwood passed peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at St. Anne Home with his devoted wife, Karen, at his side. He was born in Greensburg on June 5, 1949, to the late William and Dorris Jean (Allan) Spears. David was a graduate of Hempfield High School and spent the majority of his adult life as a long-time resident of Jacksonville, FL, for the past 40 years and returned to western PA last year. He attended college, earning a degree in computer electronics, and was a skilled welder. After retirement, David worked at a bakery and not only repaired the bakery belts but also worked on their computers. He was a "jokester" and carried a lighthearted attitude throughout his life and will be deeply missed by his surviving family: his beloved wife of 39 years, Karen Lee (Kuhns) Spears; cherished children, Jeanine Pagano (Nick) and Jennifer Guncheon (Matthew); treasured grandson, Jonas Pagano; sister, Heather Whipkey (Mark); brother, James Spears (Ella); sister-in-law, Kathy Baird; and brother-in-law, Edward Kuhns (Chris). David reunited with his father, William; and mother, Dorris, in heaven; as well as his brother, William Terry Spears; and brother-in-law, Mark Kuhns.
