There are so many memories we shared with Dennis. Building houses, raising kids, be an open house for any and all kid, repairing cars, teaching kids to drive, repairing mystery dents in the family car. One I did not share is when our dog took a dump in DENNIS’s yard. I had a tough time convincing him I did not train the dog to do that We had a mutual special friend named Mark. I watched Dennis working with him with so much patience. One memory that warm my heart was our repelling adventure at Boy Scout camp. I went first, screwed up bad and ended up with my face stuck to the repelling wall. I think Dennis wet himself laughing. When it was his turn he ended up hanging up side down hanging on the wall. I told one of the kids to run and get a camera. Dennis told the kid “ if you bring that camera back I will put it where the Sun does not shine”. Dennis got me a repelling harness It is a gift I will always cherish. I am sitting here tearing up thinking of all the great memories . I thank God for Dennis. He meant so much to so many. He blessed all of us. Thank you McCarthy family for sharing him with us. We love all of you so much. Bob

Denny taught in the same hallway as me (and we shared students) at Hillcrest Intermediate during the last segment of his long teaching career. Wow, “ornery laugh” is a perfect description! Our shared sense of just enough sarcasm for students and colleagues made working together really enjoyable.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Dennis and Pat have been long-time friends. Dennis was a groomsman at our wedding in 1972. Deepest sympathies to Pat and Dennis’s entire family. May God bless you and guide you through these most difficult times.

Dad was a wonderful person. He always cared for everyone and would always try to help everyone. Dad seriously had a heart of gold. I will miss Dad so much and love him so much. He is a mentor loved teaching history and science. He always took great care of his family. Dad is what a father a husband and a grandpa should be just an all out wonderful human being. He had a great personality always smiling and staying positive no matter what. He is truly loved by the whole family he was just so special words can't explain. Dad is a inspiration to us all and from day 1 I first met Dad I can tell he was a wonderful person.Dad you will forever be in our heart and soul forever weyou Dad so much you were always the rock of the family and you will be missed by all of us forever.
