Donald W. Hillwig

Donald William Hillwig, 88, of South Greensburg died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, at his home. He was born in Greensburg on Jan. 27, 1937, a son of the late John Hillwig and Carrie Douds Hillwig. Donald was a longtime member of Hempfield Church of Christ. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Brown-Boveri and then the Greensburg Salem School District. Donald was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard. He enjoyed gardening and traveling the United States. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Hillwig. Donald is survived by his wife of 49 years, Karen Long Hillwig; his children, Julie Hillwig, Rhett Shuster (Darla), and Mark Shuster; and also a nephew, Robbie Shuster (Carole). Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, in KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 North Main St., Greensburg.
