Donald W. Steele

1935 - 2023

Donald William Steele, 88 of Greensburg, passed away, Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Oct. 3, 1935, in Greensburg, a son of the late Donald W. Steele and Ruth (Harte) Smith. Prior to retirement, Don worked his entire career at West Penn/Allegheny Power. He earned his bachelors degree from Penn State and followed Nittany Lion sports, especially wrestling and football. Don and his wife, Paula, owned the Q-Ball Billiard Parlor in Greensburg. He was an accomplished pool player, playing in professional tournaments all over the country. He and Paula had many wonderful trips and memories travelling around the country in their RV, going to tournaments. Don also enjoyed golfing at Hannastown Golf Club and spending time with family fishing in Ocean City, Md. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Paula (Mough) Steele. Surviving are his three children, Donald Jr. (David Houser), of Cathedral City, Calif., and Tammy and Jeff, both of Greensburg; five grandchildren, Ryan, Amanda, Hanna, Erica and Jack; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Pat Steele, of Greensburg; and nieces and nephew, Jennifer (Bill) Loane, Rick (Kristi) Steele and Joyce (Pat) Feenan. He will also be missed by his dog, Biscuit. Friends will be received from 2 until the time of service 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main St., Greensburg.
