Donna Yoder Obituary

Donna Yoder, 83, a Walden's View resident, formerly of Monroeville, passed away on March 23, 2026, surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Donna was born on Oct. 2, 1942, in Beaver, to David Phillips and Patricia McCary. She grew up in the Lawrenceville and Wilkinsburg neighborhoods of Pennsylvania, where she laid the foundation for a life defined by care, creativity, and service to others. Donna attended the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and went on to build a fulfilling career as a talented hairdresser, working for many years at Flanagan's in Blawnox and later at JC Penney in Monroeville. Above all else, Donna was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, wife, and friend. She had a deep love for nature and was an avid gardener, finding beauty, peace, and solace in tending to her gardens. Her faith was central to her life, and she attended and volunteered at Christ's Lutheran Church in Murrysville, where she was known for her compassionate heart, bubbly personality, and generous, giving spirit. Donna was cherished for her sunny disposition, gentle nature, and heart of gold. Her laughter and warmth could brighten anyone's day, and she lived selflessly, always putting her family first. With a wonderful sense of humor and a kindness that extended to everyone she met, Donna touched countless lives. She enjoyed gardening, taking walks, reading, and crocheting hats for cancer patients at the Hillman Cancer Center acts that reflected her deep empathy and care for others. Donna found her greatest joy in her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, on whom she left an indelible and lasting mark. Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Yoder; and her brother, Dennis Phillips. She is survived by her children, Lorraine Sieg (Freddie), Anthony Tiani (Gina), and Dennis Krek (Tashena); grandchildren, Kenny, Amanda, Travis, Haley, Madison, Aidan, Devin, and Zaira; stepchildren, Robert Yoder (Kelly) and Jeffrey Yoder (Erica); grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy, Courtney, Becky, and Bethany. She is also survived by her brother, Roger Phillips (Sharon), of Utah; and her sister, Sandra Sauers, of Florida; along with many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., March 31, 2026, at Christ's Lutheran Cemetery on Hankey Church Road, Murrysville. WOLFE-VON GEIS FUNERAL HOME INC., Export, is entrusted with funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
