Elizabeth Mrozenski Obituary

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Mrozenski, 80, of Derry, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, in Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, San Antonio, Texas. She was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Rose Rellick Kuzemczak. Betty was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Derry and the Altar Rosary Society. She was a retired employee of the Diocese of Greensburg, where she had worked as food service and food manager of St. Joseph's School cafeteria. She was a member and past president of the Westmoreland Food Association of Westmoreland County and a member of the Derry Ukrainian Club. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Thomas J. Mrozenski; and a brother, Joseph E. Kuzemczak. She is survived by her daughter, Anna Catherine Mrozenski-Nieto and her husband, Jose, of San Antonio, Texas; her son, Thomas J. Mrozenski Jr. and his wife, Cynthia, of Oregon, Wis.; five grandchildren, Dustin and Courtney Nieto, Erica, Logan and Lance Mrozenski; a sister, Rosemarie Burkley and her husband, Gene, of Erie; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Derry with Father Stephen C. West as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
