Elsie Taylor Obituary

Elsie M. Taylor, 98, of Conneaut Lake, formerly of Vandergrift, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Ralph W. Taylor (who passed in 1994). Loving mother of Rebecca (David) Smail. Cherished grandmother of David (Tricia) Smail and Daniel (Kari) Smail, and adoring great-grandmother of Hannah and Kendra Smail. Elsie was preceded in death by her four brothers, Charles, John, Henry, and Frank. In her younger years, Elsie was an active member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School, led youth groups, and shared her love of cooking through the Meals on Wheels program. She enjoyed joining church trips and was a proud supporter of her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. Above all, Elsie treasured family gatherings, especially holiday meals filled with love, laughter, and her home-cooked dishes which will be fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to enjoy them. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at the Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, where a service will begin at noon (104 Melwood Road, New Kensington, PA 15068). Arrangements are entrusted to RJ SLATER IV FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington. 724-335-0100. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lutherlyn Summer Camp, PO Box 355 Prospect, PA 16052.
