Frances O'Neil Kerr, 98, of Unity Township, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at Redstone Highlands. She was born on March 24, 1927, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late J. Denny and Frances (Martin) O'Neil. Frances was a graduate of McKeesport High School and an English literature graduate of Chatham University. She was a member of Latrobe Presbyterian Church, where she served as a past deacon. She belonged to the William Kenly Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Latrobe Hospital Aid Society, where she participated on the Lights of Love Committee, and was a charter member of the Caring Christians. Frances enjoyed her local volunteer work, including helping with Meals on Wheels, volunteering with Faith in Action, and working at the Little Shop at Latrobe Hospital. Two of her favorite pastimes were traveling and reading a good book. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. C. Russell Kerr; and her daughter-in-law, Jane Kerr. She is survived by her children, Rev. Clark R. Kerr, Laurie Tarosky (Ron), and Mark Kerr (Dorothy); her grandchildren, Trevor Kerr, Kelly Burch (David), Justin Kerr (Stephenee), Courtney Shandera (Patrick), Adam Tarosky (Tyler), and Eric Tarosky (Erin); and her great-grandchildren, Abi Burch, Chloe and Brayden Kerr, Landon and Lillian Shandera, and Owen and Zoe Tarosky. Frances had an unconditional love for her family that knew no limits. She was a bright light to her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. Her heart was pure and full of grace, her beautiful smile and dimples set her apart, and her happiest moments were when she was seated at a big round table, surrounded by her family, sharing a meal, telling stories, and expressing her love to us all. She was a beautiful example of what a loving parent should be and will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and sincere thanks to the entire staff of Redstone Highlands Greensburg and the Redstone at Home Hospice Greensburg for their gentle and loving care of our beloved mother.
