Frank Dulovich Obituary

Frank G. Dulovich, 97, of Latrobe, died Friday, April 21, 2017, at Loyalhanna Care Center. Born June 4, 1919, in Latrobe, he was the son of the late Stephen E. and Anna (Stahura) Dulovich. Frank was a longtime member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish. He was a graduate of Latrobe High School and lifelong resident of Latrobe. Frank was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Corps of Engineers, Company B 86th battalion and was part of the Normandy invasion. Frank was awarded the good conduct medal, five bronze stars and the European African Middle Eastern service medal. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 940, the Norvelt Golf League, AARP, Latrobe Elks, Lakeview Lawson Heights Lions Club (serving a term as president), St. Joseph Club and the Frontier Club. Frank was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (highway administration). Early in his life, Frank was a volunteer fireman at the Goodwill Fire Hose Company No. 1. He did a lot of volunteering over the years, including St. Vincent DePaul and Meals on Wheels (both nearly 30 years); as well as Operation Santa Claus, Salvation Army and committee member for Boy Scout Troop 311. Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Nancy (Persno) Dulovich; and his sisters, Catherine Zamer, Ann Dulovich, Elizabeth Dulovich, Mary Ziolkowski and Margaret Ransel. He is survived by his two children, Gregory Dulovich and his wife, Judy, of Gaithersburg, Md., and Marian Dulovich, of Ellicott City, Md. He is also survived by a niece and several nephews from around the country.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. The St. Vincent Rosary Altar Society will recite the rosary at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home, immediately followed by a prayer service conducted by the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Members of the Knights of Columbus Council 940 will hold a service at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Military services will be conducted at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home by the Latrobe Derry Veterans Honor Guard. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Vincent Basilica. Interment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery.
