Gregory Martin Obituary

Gregory J. Martin Sr., 55, of Bovard, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born July 17, 1955, in Greensburg, a son of Dora L. (Boehme) Martin, of Greensburg, and the late Joseph M. Martin. Prior to his disability, he had been employed by Stone and Co., Greensburg. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg, Lloydsville Sportsmen's Club, Valley Green Golf Club, the Westmoreland County Firemen's Association, a life member of the Bovard Volunteer Fire Department and past president of the Fox Hill Athletic Association. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Monica D. (Zyvith) Martin; their children, Lori Martin, of Greensburg, Gregory J. Martin Jr., of Bovard, and Angela Rulon-Miller and her husband, Patrick, of Gettysburg; their anticipated first grandchild, in June; four brothers, Robert Martin (Kitty), Thomas Martin (Pamela), all of Greensburg, Paul Martin (Anna Lee), Michael Martin (Lisa), all of Latrobe; five sisters, Carol Lloyd (George), Mary Butina (Charles), all of Latrobe, Regina Fleming (Michael), of Greensburg, Anne Olearchick (John), of New Kensington, and Michele Lucas (Jeffrey), of Winchester, Va.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley "Stush" Zyvith (Sue), Edward "Bo" Zyvith (Marlene), all of Greensburg, and Richard Zyvith (Sandy), of Bovard; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg. Prayers will be at 12:15 p.m. Monday in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass to be celebrated at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph Chapel at the Bishop Connare Center, Greensburg, with Monsignor Raymond E. Riffle as celebrant. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. www.bachafuneralhomeinc.com.
