Helen A. Mitro

1935 - 2024

Helen A. 'Bebe' Mitro, 89, of Lower Burrell, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born April 18, 1935, in Arnold to the late Patsy and Mary (Masucci) Capo. Helen has lived in Lower Burrell for the past 10 years and prior to that East Deer for 40 years. She was a clerk typist for ALCOA in New Kensington for 14 years and also Watson Standard, Harwick, for 24 years. Helen was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, and a 1953 graduate of Arnold High School. Helen enjoyed her time at the Tarentum Elks, was an avid movie fan, a voracious reader, loved the theater, playing cards, crossword puzzles, and music. Helen especially enjoyed her family and friends. Survivors include her sister, Patricia (Robert) Bengel, of Lower Burrell; sister-in-law, Audrey Capo, of Lower Burrell. Nephews, Eric (Carolyn) Bengel, of Natrona Heights, Todd (Heidi) Bengel, of Lower Burrell, and David (Brenda) Capo, of New Kensington; and nieces, Kathleen Gagich, of Washington, PA, and Alyssa (Michael) Kuder, of Wexford. Also surviving are seven great-nieces, three great-nephews, two great-great-nieces, and one great-great-nephew. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert S. Mitro; and a brother, Francis A. Capo. At Helen's request, there will be no public visitation; however, relatives and friends are invited to attend a Christian Funeral Mass at Mt. St. Peter Church, New Kensington, on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at 10 AM. EVERYONE, PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Burial will be private in Union Cemetery, Arnold. Visit: dusterfh.com
