Henry C. Aston

1929 - 2021

Harry Carl Aston, 91, of Wilmerding, passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2021. He was born Nov. 6, 1929, in McKeesport, a son of the late George Moore and Margaret Mary (Quinn) Aston, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Dolores (Sabo) Aston; and siblings, Rowland "Bud" Aston, George Aston, Audrey McIndoe, Elaine Hickey and Arlene Izatt. Carl was a branch manager for Potter McCune Co. and then Wetterau Corp. He was a Navy Corpsman, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was an active member of Linway Presbyterian Church, North Versailles, where he sang in the choir and served as a deacon. He was a member of Shidle Lodge, No. 601, Free and Accepted Masons, Irwin, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and Syria Temple, Pittsburgh. He loved golfing and bowling and was a member of the Bromas Club bowling and golf leagues. He was an avid sports fan and loved spending time with family. Surviving are his children, Richard (Susan) Aston, of Stephens City, Va., Carl "Jake" (Cindy) Aston, of Huntingdon, and Kevin Aston (Diana McKeever), of Penn Township; his grandchildren, Chelsea Newcomer (Max Haas), Brittany (Seth) Brown , Carl (Loren) Aston, Courtney (Jordon) Hill, George and Brooke Aston, and Katie and Karlie McKeever; his great-grandchildren Kohen, Addison, Kieran, Parker and Rowan; a brother, Craig (Sue) Aston, of The Villages, Fla.; also many niece and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the FORGIE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Broadway St., East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Linway Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Eric Dennis officiating.
