Jack Kinneer Obituary

The Rev. Dr. Jack D. Kinneer, 72, of Normalville, PA, died peacefully at home on June 21, 2025. Jack was born Feb. 3, 1953, in Wilkinsburg, the son of JD and Virgie (Stahl) Kinneer. He graduated from Gateway High School in 1971. He received degrees from Clarion State University (B.A., 1975), Westminster Theological Seminary (MDiv, 1979), and St. Vladimir Orthodox Seminary (DMin, 1997). Jack devoted his life to ministry as a teacher, pastor, and author. He was the founding Pastor of New Life Presbyterian Church in Easton, serving there for 16 years (1980-1996). He taught at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary for 18 years until his retirement in 2021 as Adjunct Professor of Greek and New Testament Studies. Jack was a member of the Pittsburgh Presbytery (PCA) and had been serving as Associate Pastor at Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Ligonier, PA, for the past 19 years. He authored 'How To Grow In Christ' (1981) and was a contributor to other publications. Jack was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janice (Williams) Kinneer; daughter Aileen Bell (Patrick); and grandson. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, June 25, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in Mark C. Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 146 Municipal Building Rd., Melcroft, PA 15462. A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. David R. Kenyon, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 240 W. Main St., Ligonier, PA 15658. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Donegal, PA. The family wishes to express gratitude to UPMC Hillman Cancer Centers at Shadyside and Arnold Palmer, as well as Excela Health Home Care & Hospice, for their exceptional care. Memorial donations may be made to Pioneer Presbyterian Church or Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

So sorry to hear Pastor“s passing...he was such a Blessed Teacher if The Word!!.....i cannot begin to express how much his Bible Studies and Sunday Sermons shaped...,cultivated and taught those of us who had the privilege of hearing this Man....today 30 years after learning under his teaching i still reference the treasure trove of knowledge this Man bestowed upon me!.....May The Lord of Host comfort you Janice and children.....Ed Duignam
