James Bickham Obituary

James T. Bickham, 82, of Herminie, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012. He was born Feb. 15, 1930, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Crawford) Bickham. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Bickham was employed as a switchman by Bell Telephone Company. He was a member of Herminie United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher, Rough Riders Horse Club of Westmoreland County, Masonic Shidle Lodge No. 601 of Irwin, and the Bell Telephone Pioneers. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marian Bickham; two daughters, Debra Barton and her husband, Michael, of Randolph, N.J., and Sharon Jones and her husband, Wayne, of Hudson, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kristen Virts and her husband, Dr. Michael, Alexis Marsh and her husband, Drew, Megan Jones and Diana Jones; one great-grandchild, Jackson Virts; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Harold Babin at CHARLET FUNERAL HOME in Zachary, La. Interment followed at Star Hill Cemetery, St. Francisville, La. Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Center, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or The Salvation Army - Akron Adult Rehabilitation Center, 1006 Grant St., Akron, OH 44311.
