James M. "Mitch" Gamble, 60, of Derry, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born March 28, 1949, in Latrobe, a son of Helen V. Dudley Gamble, of Latrobe, and the late Metro Mitchell Gamble. Mitch was a retired employee of Torrance State Hospital where he had worked for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Derry Ukes, the Derry Rod and Gun Club and many other social clubs. Besides his father, Mitch was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Pyle Gamble, Nov. 6, 1999; and a sister, Nancy Truxall. Mitch is survived by his son, Robert M. Gamble and his fiancee, Kimberly Davis, of Derry, and his daughter, Rachael and her husband, Robert Gaffey, of Derry; his brother, Charles A. Gamble and his wife, Joanne, of Derry; two sisters, Helen and her husband, Ray Lesko, and Debbie and her husband, Dennis Brant, all of Latrobe; three grandchildren, Dakotta and Dylan Gaffey and Alex Powell; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday from and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the MCCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry.
