Jean Mong Obituary

Jean E. Mong, 77, of Circleville, North Huntingdon, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at Excela Health Hospice of Jeannette. She was born March 21, 1933, in Barkeyville, a daughter of the late Paul V. and Helen Laverne McFadden Emmett. Jean was an active life time member of Circleville United Methodist Church, where she was a youth leader and a member of family ministries. She was a homemaker, former scout leader and enjoyed decorating as a hobby. She was preceded in death by one sister, Peg Kelly. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, William Mong; son, D. Todd Mong and his wife, Britta, of Franklin, Mich.; daughter, Mary Beth Freda and her husband, Dennis; four brothers, Paul Emmett, of Harrisville, Robert Emmett, of Grove City, Fred Emmett, of Wesley, and Ken Emmett, of Clintonville; three sisters, Judy Keith, of Sharon, Jeannette Sopher, of Shellborne, Vt., and Marilyn Dick of Grove City, and their families. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. Additional viewing will be held from 10 until the time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday in Circleville United Methodist Church with Pastor Raymond Lyon officiating. Memorials may be made to Excela Health Hospice or Circleville United Methodist Church. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
