John A. Dovyak Jr., 73, of Fishers, Ind., formerly of Unity Township. died Friday, July 16, 2021. He was born Aug. 13. 1947, son of the late John and Doris Cook Dovyak. John was a 1965 graduate of Greensburg Salem and 1967 from Penn State. He worked 48 years for Kennametal as a lead ceramic technician prior to retirement. John had a witty sense of humor, always willing to engage in conversation with anyone on a variety of outspoken topics, whether it be finances, religion or politics. He was very organized and liked to keep life simple. He was preceded in death by a son, Eric, in 1980. He will be missed by his wife of 49 years, Patricia (Piovesan) Dovyak; beloved children, Jenna (Dustin) Crawford, of Indianapolis, Ind., and son, Craig (Claire) Dovyak, of Bethal Park; and special grandchildren, Roslyn and Eva Crawford, who called him Pap. He is survived also by his brother, David Dovyak; cousins, nieces, nephews, In-laws and very close friends. Private services will follow inurnment at Twin Valley Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the National Parkinsons Foundation, in memory of John Dovyak, at 200 SE First St. Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
