John McClure Obituary

John D. "Spider" McClure Jr., 77, of Claridge, died on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born on Nov. 18, 1948, in Harrison City, a son of the late John D. McClure and Rachael (Howell) McClure. John, known to all as Spider, had worked as a forklift operator for many years at the former Quadrant EPP in Delmont. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and had served in Vietnam. Spider was a loyal member of the Bushy Run American Legion Post 260 and enjoyed spending his afternoons there with his great friends, Charlie, Russ, and Amy. He also loved fishing, NASCAR, and the Steelers. He is survived by five children, Tammy L. Josselyn (Drew), Wendy R. Jurasek (Michael), John D. McClure III, Jackie E. Mears (Brian), and Michael R. McClure (Ryan Means); 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two grand-dogs, Geno and Eleanor; two sisters, Janet McClure and Della Joyce Baginski (late Edward); and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy G. McClure. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at LINDSAY-JOBE FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, PO Box 465, Harrison City, where a blessing service will be held at 5:30 p.m. prior to the evening visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to the Bushy Run American Legion, PO Box 416, Claridge, PA 15623, or to a local veterans organization of your choosing. online condolences can be given at www.Lindsay-JobeFuneralHome.com.
