John Mulleneaux Obituary

John A. "Skip" Mulleneaux, 86, of Ruffsdale, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019. He was born April 28, 1932, in Des Moines, Iowa, a son of the late John and Bonnie McCullough Mulleneaux. John was a decorated veteran of the Korean War, having earned the Purple Heart and Gold Star while serving in the Marine Corps. Prior to retirement in 1996, he was a heavy equipment mechanic for the State of Arizona. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Josephine "Bernice" Sheppard Mulleneaux; and two sisters, Diana Bush and Carolyn Barger. He is survived by his son, John (Jill Wallace) Mulleneaux, of Greensburg; a beloved grandson, Justin Mulleneaux, of Greensburg; two brothers, Joe and Jimmy Mulleneaux, of California; a sister, Ginger Schnell, of Ajo, Ariz.; an aunt, Barbara Rupe, of Des Moines, Iowa; and a special friend, Dutch, and her daughter, Pam.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home, with Pastor Charles Burd officiating. Interment with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post 33, Greensburg, will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
