Joseph Buffer Obituary

Joseph T. Buffer, 82, of Penn, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, in Greensburg Care Center. He was born March 7, 1930, in South Greensburg, a son of the late Frank and Anne Catherine (Spino) Buffer. Prior to retirement, he worked as a laborer at General Tire and Rubber Co. Affectionately known as "Mr. Corvair", he was affiliated with several classic car clubs and through his involvement with them he raised money for multiple children's charities. He is survived by his wife, Frances (Bradley), of Penn; a daughter, Susan E. Buffer, of New Stanton; a son, Thomas J. Buffer, of Penn; a brother, Donald J. Buffer and his wife, Mary Ann, of Youngwood; and two nieces and two nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the McCLURE-JOBE FUNERAL HOME, 112 N. Second St., Jeannette. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Mike Alfieri officiating. Interment will be held at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, following the service. Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
