Kay Stranko

1948 - 2024

Kay (Angus) Stranko, 76, of Latrobe, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Greene Health and Rehabilitation Center, Greensburg. Born Jan. 29, 1948, in Latrobe, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mildred E. (Stump) Angus. Kay was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Youngstown. Throughout her career, she was employed at Al Chenet and John Gable Insurance Agencies, Latrobe Steel Company, and WQTW Radio. She was a member of the former Red Hat Society and Latrobe Junior Women's Club. Kay was a huge Pittsburgh Pirates fan and she enjoyed making pierogi's at the former St. Stanislaus Church, Calumet. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Stranko; two grandsons, Cameron and Owen Stranko; and one sister, Jacqueline Stiffler (James). Kay is survived by one son, Richard Todd Stranko, and his wife, Kelly, of Bethel Park; one brother, Garrie W. Angus, and his wife, Marcia, of Latrobe; and one granddaughter, Harper Elizabeth Stranko; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. There will be no public visitations. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., Monday, at Sacred Heart Church, Youngstown, with the Rev. James Podlesny, OSB as celebrant. Private inurnment will be at Unity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank, 100 Devonshire Drive, Delmont, PA 15626.
