Lawrence Dixon Obituary

Lawrence L. Dixon Sr., 73, of Jeannette, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born March 17, 1930, in Greensburg, a son of the late Thomas and Gladys Anderson Dixon. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Co. and Singer Sewing Machine. He was currently employed by the Tribune-Review. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and its Holy Name Society. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Rita Dunn Dixon, and was the loving father to three sons, Lawrence L. Dixon Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Elyria, Ohio, Ronald F. Dixon and his wife, Michelle, of Jeannette and Dennis J. Dixon and his wife, Vicki, of Jeannette; five daughters, Donna Ziegenfus and her husband, Jeff, of Greensburg, Sheila Ramler and her husband, Keith, of Jeannette, Mary Beth Wallace and her husband, Russ, of Jeannette, Emily Dixon and her friend, Anthony Christofano, of Jeannette and Colleen Baden and her husband, Robert, of Jeannette; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Thomas M. Dixon Jr. and his wife, Ruth, of Greensburg; a sister, Judith Gaut and her husband, Richard, of Waldorf, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Jeannette. Interment will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn Township. Members of the Holy Name Society will pray the rosary Sunday at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
