Lawrence Garlock Obituary

Lawrence R. "Larry" Garlock, 68, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born April 17, 1942, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Ed and Sally Garlock. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Valley Natural Gases. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the Army, 1st Cavalry; a member of Troop A Golf League, Jeannette Chip and Putt League and BPOE; and was a graduate of Greensburg High School and Point Park College. Larry was known for his great sense of humor and as a great storyteller. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling, and was an avid sports fan. He is survived by his wife, Janice O. (Olbrish) Garlock; his mother-in-law, Anne Olbrish; brother-in-law, Dennis Olbrish and his wife, Janet; sister-in-law, Maureen Krautz; nephew, Robert J. Krautz and his wife, Marie; niece, Michelle Bonazza and her husband, Joseph, and their children, Joseph and Elizabeth; and niece, Nicole Olbrish. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Martin R. Ankrum officiating. Entombment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park Mausoleum with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post 33 Honor Guard.
