Linda Mowrey Obituary

Linda Ray Mowrey, of Sewickley Township, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in Florida. Linda was born Jan. 30, 1944, In Cowansburg, Pa., to Joseph and Ruth Seneff Ray. She graduated from Sewickley High School in Herminie in 1962. She and Don Mowrey married two years later. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bert Ray; and her sister, Patty Radziwon. Linda gave birth to and raised three great kids: Kelly Bergman, of Sewickley Township, Mark Mowrey, of Laguna Beach, Calif., and Jody Smalley, of Maumee, Ohio. She adored her grandchildren, Morgan and Hunter Bergman, of Sewickley Township, and Nora, Abi and Cait Smalley, of Maumee, Ohio. Her sons-in-law, Ron Bergman, Alex Williamson and Chris Smalley, would jump to do anything she asked. She greatly enjoyed the ten years she spent working with the students, parents and teachers of Yough School District, a position from which she retired in 2000. Linda was a talented decorative painter and enjoyed teaching it as well. When chemotherapy destroyed the fine motor skills in her fingers, rather than lament, she took up making and giving away blankets. She distributed in excess of 80 blankets to family, friends and "the sick, old ladies who needed them." Linda loved God and attending and working at church in Herminie, Madison and Fort Myers, Fla.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, at Madison United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Green officiating.
May the peace of God bless and care for all of Linda's earthly family and friends.

Now Linda is with Jesus and her family. I always used to kid her about her brother Bert. I went to school with her niece Sandy & today was Sandy's birthday DECEMBER 26. We enjoyed your family at the E. U. B. Church in Herminie.

Dear Mowrey Family,

I have gotten word through my agent that Linda has passed. She was one of my biggest fans, as she told me after my comedy routines. She told me I would be a star one day. She was right. Now, she is a star, shining down on us all. I will be contacting Don personally to offer my condolences.
