Linda M. Whitehead

Linda M. (McLaughlin) Whitehead, 81, of North Huntingdon, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at her home. She was born Jan. 19, 1934, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Marion L. and Laverne (Gault) McLaughlin. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, in Manor. Linda was a secretary at the Manor Library, an avid Pirates fan and a supporter of the Humane Society. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, S. Wayne Whitehead; a sister, Nona Jean Christy; a brother, Richard G. McLaughlin; and two nephews, Richard W. McLaughlin and Mel Christy. Surviving are nieces and nephews, Sandra L. Mahoy, of Export, Kathy Ann Greer, of Greensburg, Cynthia L. McLaughlin and husband, Bob, of Florida, Linda M. "Shelly" Hoover and husband, Dan, of Greensburg, James Christy, of Greensburg, William B. Whitehead, of Nazareth, Pa., John H. Whitehead and wife, Barbara, of Wheeling, W.Va., and Eric Bartlett, of Chicago, Ill.; great-nephew, Mark Christy; as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Diane Wiley, her pastor, officiating.
